First Official Meeting of the Rare and Special Disease Research Center Held at Tehran University of Medical Sciences

 Farabi hospital public relations reports that the first official meeting of the founding board members of the Rare & Special Disease Research Center in Tehran University of Medical Sciences was held on 23 ⁄7 ⁄2025 in the conference hall of Farabi hospital, with the presence of the esteemed hospital director, Dr. Fakhraie, the esteemed founding board members and Dr. Seyyed Farzad Mohammadi, the originator of the idea of establishing Rare & Specific Diseases Research Center in Ophthalmology.

The meeting commenced with remarks by Dr. Seyyed Farzad Mohammadi, regarding the founding idea of the research center, which was initially conceived in 2020. He then proceeded to elaborate on the center’s development horizon and future prospects.

During this session the esteemed founding board members made the decisions regarding the appointment of the head of the center, the research deputy, supreme council members and full -time and part -time academic staffs. Furthermore, decision regarding the location of the research center within Farabi hospital was made in the presence of the esteemed hospital director.

At the end of the session, a commitment to cooperation was made by the founding board members to remain engaged until the fulfillment of the higher goals.
